Animal Flower Cave
On the recommendation of friends we all loaded up in the cars today and took the hour long trek to the Animal Flower Cave on the northern most tip of the island. We live on the southern end of the island so our adventure today literally took us across the entire length of the island. The Animal Flower Cave is cave right on the cliff of the Atlantic Ocean. The Animal Flower refers to an early name given to sea anemones, which seems oddly fitting. The cave is filled with bodies of waters, some puddles, and the largest being 10 feet deep and totally swimable (though none of us had our suits, next time!). The animal flowers live in these pools of waters, that are constantly re-filled by the rough Atlantic Ocean crashing through the cave. It was seriously so beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice, but here they are anyway!
