Ebay on hold. . . . . for now!

Well it looks like we won't have to list the kids on ebay just yet. Hannah finally fell asleep not too long after I posted last night. No clue what she was up to, she just didn't want to sleep. Once she was out though, we didn't hear from her again until this morning. We did have a midnight visit from Emily, though. I woke up in the wee hours squished between Tyler and Emily in the bed. This morning I asked Tyler why he let her crawl into bed and he said he didn't. Somehow she got past both of us, into bed and fell asleep before we noticed. What a night!

We did have a few moments where we considered ebay earlier in the day. Emily threw a pretty good fit before church. She didn't want to get dressed, she didn't want to clean up her mess, she didn't want to go to church. We finally calmed her down and got her to church where she probably behaved the best she ever has here. Church here is hard for her, it's so different than it was in Korea and she misses her great teachers. There is a lot of reading straight from manuals here and I don't know a three year old who would do very well with that, it's just hard. So as some positive reinforcement she got a bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup and sprinkles when we got home. Good job Emily!

Hannah also threw a world class fit at church. Hannah is darling, she is agreeable, she is happy. . .. unless she doesn't get her way. Then out comes red-hot Hannah. Her least favorite word is no. She hates to be told no and will often cry like her world is ending when we are firm on the no. She also gets mad when she doesn't get what she wants. No big deal, lots of kids do, but it is even worse for Hannah who knows exactly what she wants but isn't yet communicating verbally enough to tell us. She gets so frustrated! Anyway today at church cute Hannah melted away and was replaced with screaming Hannah when Tyler made the mistake of putting her juice box into a cup when she really just wanted it in the box itself. Thankfully we had an extra box to calm her down. Yikes!!! Don't mess with this little girl! In the meantime I think several of the young men privy to the meltdown are now re-thinking fatherhood.

But all is well. We came home, ate lunch and all took a great nap. The girls are now watching a little Dora and I am going to start on some fajitas for dinner. I lucked across some strip cut steak (beef is not that great here) so I am excited to try it out! I'll leave you with one darling picture of Hannah. This is what I see every time get her up from sleeping. She is always so excited to see me!

Our church in Medan also has its unique way to persuade kids to join the class. They fed Alec a hand full of sweet. I know they meant well, but I paid the price. At the end of service we had a jumpy rock star-monkey!
