Sunday Craziness

I really wasn't feeling my lesson today for Emily's primary class. I get burned out teaching every week, and for some reason it really wasn't coming together. So we walked into church and saw the senior missionary couple currently serving here in Barbados. I groaned inside because this means one thing for me: Teaching the Gospel class will be held today! Why is this a problem? Because it means I get all the Primary kids for Sunday school. So suddenly my lesson on "I Am Thankful for my Eyes" seemed grossly inappropriate. How much can you really stretch being thankfully for your eyes to an 11-year old level.
So during the second hour of church I ran home and picked up Mountain of the Lord on DVD and a bag of popcorn. I decided to just let the kids watch a movie and call it a day. They ended up behaving miserably through the DVD, but that is a different story all together. . .

While at home the girls hopped out of the car and bee-lined for the swing set. Rather than load them up and take them right back we spent about twenty minutes outside enjoying the day. Hannah enjoyed practicing her "Wheeees" and Emily had to show Osito and Holly how to use the glider. After that we were in a much better place to return to church!
