Back Home!

Well we survived our trek back to Barbados! We were up and driving to the airport at 3:30 AM and the girls didn't sleep again until bedtime that night. I must admit it went far smoother than I had feared. No huge melt-downs, no big messes, just three relatively well behaved little girls. I know we were blessed beyond reason on this one, but I am just so grateful it is over! The girls did great entertaining themselves with movies and coloring. Hannah's favorite was watching some kiddie shows I had put on the iPod. And Emily enjoyed her newly found love: drawing. The baby did pretty well and mostly just slept and ate.

I also must say there is truly something to southern hospitality. I had people offering to hold the baby, to carry bags, to fold my stroller, etc. on the flight from Houston to Miami. It was quite refreshing. This stands as a sharp contrast to a horrified lady who watched me wrangle the stroller and kids into the restroom in Miami. Instead of holding a door, she looked at me with a disgusted look and said "I don't understand people like you." I kept a smile on my face, but could not keep from responding, "Wow that was incredibly rude." Seriously. It makes me so mad! I don't care if people only want one child (or no children) but what makes you think you have any right to patronize me for my life choices! Anyway I love my kids, yes all THREE of them, and am willing to take whatever looks this might stir. Imagine had I dared tell her I want a fourth!

Anyway it was a huge relief to touch down in Barbados. Everyone complemented the girls on how well behaved they were. And the highlight of the day of course was emerging from the steps of the plane and seeing Tyler waiting on the tarmac for us. I love not being a single parent again (at least until he travels again)!

We loved Texas, we loved being with family, but it is rather nice to be home. As a nice side bonus, we arrived on Ryan's birthday and got to celebrate with them!

Here are a few pictures from our last few days in Houston.

I can't believe that lady in the airport said that! I'm glad you let her know that she was rude! Glad you made it back safe!
