We did it!

Well we did it. We officially survived the crazy Allen Family road trip that started last month. Our trip took us through California to Disneyland, San Diego, through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas where we finally took a break for the family reunion. Then it was on through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia. Wow.

On our trip we:

- Drove through 11 states

- Spent 6 nights in hotels

- Saw all of Tyler's family (minus Paul who had to work)

- Spent the night with two sets of college friends

- Visited with three more friends in San Diego

- Drove an average of 8 hours a day

- Let our kids watch way more TV than we normally do 

- Ate a lot of McDonalds

- Put close to 4000 miles on our new van

- Listened to tons of Junie B. Jones

- Came to remember just how LARGE our beautiful nation is!

And now we are here, we are settled and we will be enjoying DC for the next six weeks. And hopefully minimizing car travel!
