When we lived in Seoul I spent the first year and a half of our time there working with the children in the Primary program at church. I have such fond memories of my time serving with fantastic women, and amazing children. I loved teaching lessons, singing songs, and laughing at the kids antics. As an aside, when I was called to teach in Relief Society after this, it was shockingly quiet to me. There was no back-chatter, no irreverent giggling, no interruptions, and no squeaky armpit bodily function noises. And you know what, I missed all that! Oh, how I loved working with those kids.
At the time Emily was my one and only little one, and she spent many a lesson crawling around my feet. I would watch the older kids offer prayers, read scriptures, and give short little talks and marvel that someday that little baby underfoot would be doing the same. It seemed like a lifetime away.
Fast forward about four years, back in Korea, and it was Emily's turn to give her first talk in Primary. Her topic was baptism. Tyler helped her write her simple talk, and I relished the chance to sneak into the back of the Primary room and listen to my little girl, giving a big girl talk.
Emily and her visual aid. You know visual aids make everything better!
Hannah wanted to be in the picture, too. And Mr. Monkey and Emily Puppy. I love hand-me-downs, by the way. I have memories of Emily wearing this same pink dress Hannah is.
Madeline loves playing with this latch. Catch that crazy bed-head going on!
I love those bright baby blues!
