Field Day/Spring Show

What a busy day for the Kindergarten, Pre-Kindergarten and Nursery classes! The kids spent the morning participating in field day. The field day was organized and put on by the middle and high school kids and teachers. It turned out to be a super fun morning filled with games, races, and running. There was even going to be a water balloon fight, but it was quite chilly so that idea was quickly queued. The teams were all mixed, composed of kids from each of the three classes. These grades are some of the best- the kids spent the entire morning rooting one another on, regardless of what team they were on and could honestly not have cared less who won in the end.

Hannah and Charlene: Nursery Buddies

Emily and Rania: Kindergarten Buddies

The whole crew

Hannah doing the water race. Run down, fill cup with water, run back. Hannah hates being wet. I was nervous. She rocked it.

Emily doing the cookie race. Like the egg in a spoon race, only easier. She's only 5.

The ball between the legs race. New to me, but quite funny.

More ball between legs racing.

Nursery Class. The only guy in the picture is a totally famous Korean soccer player. Hannah's teacher really wanted a photo with him so I arranged a group picture. She was thrilled- he was in it, and she wasn't embarrassed. Lots of swooning was going on.

Kindergarten Class

After field day the kids in a hyped up, sugar induced stupor were led into the cafeteria for lunch. The parents were dismissed for a long lunch break (what no interest in cafeteria food?!) After our sandwich break we all returned for the afternoon spring show. Each of the three classes had been working so hard getting ready for this. Emily's class did both a musical number and a rather long (10 minute-ish) play including all the nursery rhymes that had been learning over the year. Hannah's class sang the Barney song and then did a little spring poem and another song. All three classes were seriously too cute to watch.

Emily's class rockin the violin and cello.

Hannah and Jake. Not sure what was going on here, just them being goofy as per the norm.

Cheesy smile

And finally some video footage. Probably only interesting to family, or those of you who are looking for a way to kill part of your day.

Emily's Class playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. These kids are pretty dang good! First they pluck the song without the bows, then they play it again with the bow in hand.

Hannah's class singing Barney's I Love You song. It's really, really cute.
