What a day! Today was Emily's class field trip to Ocean Park Aquarium. It was quite a site to see 30 preschool kids, parents, siblings, and teachers crowding around various tanks and pools. All the kids loved it, despite the rain that came down through much of the day. The field trip ended with the kids eating lunch and playing on the playground, which was both wet and muddy. By the time I took Hannah home she was wet, muddy, covered with orange marker (thanks to a craft project), with chocolate cupcake smeared on her face. A filthy child has to the mark of a well spent morning, don't you think?! The second picture was taken on the playground as it was starting to rain again. I got some strange looks from parents for even letting the kids play in the sprinkles. One mother warned me they might get sick. My kids have rolled around in freezing Korean snow, I doubt a little warm rain is going to do them in! So I continued to be the only parent who allowed rain/mud play. Isn't that what being a kid is about? Regardless, my girls loved it.

On the way out Emily got to spend her piggy-bank money in the gift shop. I was quite impressed when she picked out a bucket full of ocean animals. That proved to be the entertainment of the day for both kids. She was so proud to get to spend her money on something she had so carefully selected.
Once we got home, Hannah napped, I jogged, Emily rested and then it was time for some Easter Egg decorating! The Embassy is having an Easter party tomorrow and the kids are supposed to bring some decorated eggs. We didn't have a dye kit so I spent some time online finding fun ideas to use (

I am looking forward to a nice weekend, and then our friends the Owens arrive on Sunday for a week! We love getting visitors, so come on down! Anyone interested?? Our new house has a lovely guest room . . . . .
