It was a great week to be the father or a three-year old. Emily popped out with some real great ones. Here they are in no particular order:
1. The other night Emily woke up crying. I went in her room to see what was wrong and she was obviously in the middle of a nightmare. As she was somewhere between dream and lucidity, I asked her what was wrong. "They're stealing the toys! They're stealing the toys!" was her response.
"Who is?"
"The Pirates!!!!"
2. I've been reading a little bit of the Book of Mormon to Emily each night before we do pre-bed story time. One evening, out of boredom with scripture, Emily got a little cheeky. Her commentary: "And it came to pass that the penguins were going to..."
3. How's this for creativity? Emily grabbed my aerobie and put it around her neck. She then started running around the house yelling, "I'm from Tanzania! I'm from Tanzania!"

4. This one is my personal favorite. While at church today, the hymn we were singing said something about a miracle. Emily asked what a miracle is. I put her on my lap and explained that a miracle is a very special blessing that God gives us that helps us out a lot and normally doesn't seem possible. Emily then said, "Or a miracle round." I said, "Huh?" and she responded, "You know, a miracle round. It goes round and round and round and you can ride it."
Here's one more picture. It has nothing to do with the fun Emilyisms, but it's a cute picture.
We put our girls in their cougar shirts in honor of BYU playing in the Mountain West Conference Championships. I was also appropriately in my BYU shirt. Too bad the Cougs lost. Hopefully they'll do better the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
