With a long weekend ahead of us (thanks to the Barbados Independence Day holiday) we decided that the time had finally come to take Hannah's beloved binkys away from her. She as becoming a bit too attached to them and had recently even stated demanding specific ones, so the time had arrived to say farewell.
We talked her through being a big girl, even gave her a new big girl Ariel doll, but it was still a rough transition. For two days straight we had to keep her occupied and distracted so she wouldn't remember what she was missing. After two miserable nights of sleep, she finally pulled through on Monday and appears to have gotten over her loss. It has been two days without her asking, and she seems to be coping very well. After a solid night sleep last night we are cautiously optimistic that we have cleared the worst and our little Hannah is just that much more of a big girl. Way to go Hannah!
