Highlights:
1. Christmas Eve reading of the Christmas Story in Luke. This is always beautiful, made even more special this year by Hannah throwing the figures from the nativity scene we were trying to create (thankfully plastic). Every time someone joined the scene, Hannah would immediately escort them off the table. Hannah also enjoyed a very chocolate sucker that got EVERYWHERE.
2. A seriously beautiful Christmas tree filled with years of memories: births, marriage, special childhood friends, travels, old homes. Each ornament a memory.
3. Emily's spontaneous bursting into song. Not just any song, a local very gospel song. Emily, in a loud voice, "Mary had a baby. YES LORD! Mary had a baby. YES MY LORD. The people keep a comin' but the train has gone." Very sweet and loving. And very gospel-choir.
4. Watching the look of awe on Emily's face as she entered the living room Christmas morning.
5. Watching Hannah bee-line for the car Santa had left her, and literally throw things out of the way to get into it.
6. Continuing to watch Hannah sit in the car all morning. Occasionally she would leave to grab a present and bring it back to the car. Very occasionally. . .
7. Watching both our girls play with toys together and enjoy being sisters. They are so beautiful.

8. Sitting on the swing on the front lawn in shorts and flip flops watching the girls tear around the swing set. Very tropical.
9. Being together as a family, truly the biggest blessing ever.
This Christmas for us was about being a family and the sweet spirit that this brings. I love my family and I am so thankful for the love we share. I have a husband who is caring, loving, and who is the best father ever. He is my best friend. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters and one very happy, loving home. What more could you ask for for Christmas? Nothing in this world.
Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all enjoyed this blessed day as much as we did.
