Hurricane Dean

For anyone following the weather news we are sitting tight and bracing for the arrival of Hurricane Dean. See that nice huge white spot in the lower right hand corner? That's Dean. Just to the left of Dean is a chain of small islands. Just to the right of the small islands is Barbados. I am sure you can do the math on that one. So it comes at us at 90 MPH winds at a rate of 23 MPH. So we are expecting some wet, wet weather come early next morning.

As you can see we are officially under a hurricane warning now, too. We are the little island sticking out to the right of the red area. Fun, huh?

If it stays on it's projected path we are not due for a direct hit, but will probably get the rains and wind. So what are we doing? Getting the flashlights, MREs, radio, and portable DVD player ready and planning for an evening hunkered down in the hallway of the house (the only place without windows).

So we will keep you all updated! For now though I better go finish getting things ready!

Wow, Jen, when it's rain -- it pours. Your family in our prayer.

Hope everything is well--wow is that scary! I know people worry about earthquakes, but I guess growing up with those, a hirricane seems much much scarier!
