Rainy Day Fun and Potty Success!

Days like today I realize how hard it is to live here! It is a rainy morning which pretty much eliminates everything we like to do here (play in the yard, the beach, playgrounds, aquarium, etc). And trying to entertain two small children inside gets old very fast. Today I went back to one of our old standbys: painting.

These girls love to paint. I got out the paint and just let them go. A huge mess ensued of course (thank you tile floors!) but it kept them busy for over an hour. And then the resulting bath with the paint tinted water was another 45 minutes of enjoyment. The girls loved it!

In other news we are starting to work with Hannah on potty-training. After sitting and reading to her forever on the potty we finally had success yesterday. Today in the middle of paining she stopped herself and announced she had to go potty. Sure enough she sat down and there it was! And just now she found me again and told me she needed to go potty. Very cool! I know we still have a long way to go, but it's a good start. I don't know what motivates her more, being a big girl like her sister, or the gummy snack she gets each time she goes. . . .

Way to go, Hannah!
