Throughout the year Emily's Kindergarten celebrated birthdays in class with small parties. It was quite refreshing as often birthday parties here are expensive, and over the top, and elaborate, and full. Emily's class (thankfully) opted for a more frugal and intimate tradition. A cake, some treats, a dance party, and a few small presents, all in the class. Emily loved picking gifts for her classmates, and lived on the hope that one day it would be her turn. There were only two summer birthdays in the class, and thankfully (for Emily's sake) her teacher assigned each summer birthday a day the last week of school for the their birthday. Emily was thrilled to finally have a turn, albeit a full two months ahead of the actual event.
Very Hungry Caterpillar Cake
Someone snuck in from Nursery! She said "Little sisters get to come, too." Too cute to argue with. She even wore her "party dress."
Blowing out the candles. Had to be careful here. . . . the kids already know any left is how many yucky boyfriends you get!
Unwrapping presents- pencil boxes, clay, stickers, and socks.
What happens on the playgrounds when the pool is filled for water day the next day. These were some pretty wet Kindergarteners!
So despite it being a bit in the future, happy birthday Emily! We're so glad she got to celebrate with her friends!
