On the last day of school, the Nursery and Pre-K classes held a small graduation for all the students who will be moving on. It was super informal, quite chaotic, and noisy. Pretty much perfect for this age! As each of the students were called up, their teacher Miss LeMaitre gave them each an award. As Hannah was called up she presented her with the "Most Improved Nursery Student" award. That might be an understatement. Considering that she spent many of her early days at school screaming, throwing fits, and enjoying lunch in the principals office (which she considered a treat, and her teacher considered a break). She couldn't make it through the full day, so each day I would dutifully juggle naps to drive to school to retrieve her.
At some point around Christmas it finally clicked. She came out of the terrible twos (which I would like to say is a deceiving title- they were way more than the twos around here!), and decided she liked school. Loved it in fact. She would stay all day, rest quietly at nap time, even get her name on the happy face board! Now don't get me wrong, she's far from perfect and I would still get notes about crying spells, but seriously what a difference! This sweet little girl now throws herself at her teacher with all her might while exclaiming (loudly) "I wuv you Miss LeMaitre!).
Yes, much improved she is.
Getting her diploma.
Lovin' her Miss LeMaitre

Posing with Beefus (I'm still not sure how to spell that). School mascot.
My girls on their last day of school for the year.
Emily's last day of Kindergarten
Every morning she would carefully pick a stuffed animal to take to school. The kids were allowed to bring small toys from home to play with in the morning during free play. It was always a stuffed friend for Emily.

Madeline showing off her belly. I actually think she was trying to get me to poke her tummy- a favorite game.
What a great year for both my girls! They have grown up so much, learned a ton, and made some awesome friends. I look forward to 1st grade, and Pre-Kindergarten in the fall. And more tummy poking, we've got to keep the little one happy, too.

I am glad the terrible twos lasted longer for you too. I am glad Hannah started liking school. She has a lot of years to be there.
