It seemed somehow oddly fitting to spend the first morning of the girls' summer vacation at the beach! We have become so spoiled living in such proximity to beaches for the last three years. It has made beach attendance a very relaxing casual experience. We load the stroller with a few towels, light snacks and the sand toys. We walk 10 minutes to the beach, spend a few hours, and then when kids are cranky and hungry we head home.
The beach is not yet "open" in Korea, so despite high temperatures, the beach was deserted. The water here is freezing (at least compared to the Caribbean Sea we grew so accustomed to swimming in), but it doesn't deter the girls from some quality splashing. And it appears that after several exposures, Madeline if finally warming up to the entire beach/sand/water experience! I see many, many more morning like this in our future!
The paparazzi.
Hannah's "turtle in her crib" creation.
Sitting in the sand, and smiling!
Hard to tell, but she is a "sand mermaid."
